and gave lots of hugs
family called all day
friends showered me with gifts
enjoyed cake with my kids
and ice-cream with my chicks
flowers arrived
from far away
Doug said he loved me
a million times today
my first birthday without Stephanie
I survived because of your love
she was here with me, don't know how
maybe an angel or a dove

Katie,I forgot to tell you a "big happy birthday" when we spoke today. Sometimes work gets so crazy it can make us rude. I will give you a hug and kiss when I see you. You are a courageous women, incredible Mom, beautiful wife, loving daughter and a hero to your entire family. I am honored to be part of your lives and by the confidence you have placed in me. Happy Birthday!!! I stopped by your sister Kelly's blog and saw yours. I had written to you after Stephie passed away to let you know what an impact your family's story had made on me, and I can't imagine how many others. I think about you all the time and pray that you are coping and finding some sort of peace. Every time a chart passes over my desk I always check platelets and think of Stephanie. You and your sister are making such a difference in getting Stephanie's story out.
