There are not a lot of words to describe how excited I am about voting today. I'm almost 36 years old, I've voted many times before, and I've always wanted something new and different. And now, more than ever, I believe it is going to happen. You know, this is not about taxes, race, perscriptions, abortion, marriage, or war. This is about making our country a place to brag about again. A place where we can say America takes care of its people. America gives anyone a chance to succeed and the freedom to chose how YOU want to live YOUR life.
I have a totally new outlook on insurance now. Without health insurance, I'd be drowning in debt. Losing Stephanie would have cost Doug and I hundreds of thousands of dollars just in medical bills. I paid $50.00 in the emergency room because of my employer and our programs available. Every single American should be able to try and save their child without worrying about cost and debt.
And the people who are worried about THEIR taxes...well, they're not worried about OUR country then. Because MY America, stands up for all americans-rich, poor, employed, or non-employed. If I have a way to help our country in the future I will and I will never believe that for one minute that I deserve money while others struggle. This is not about the haves and have-nots. I am my brothers keeper!
There are no magic potions, no magic wands, no crystal balls. The new President will have a long uphill climb to bring honor back to our people. But I voted for the man I believe can, and will, change this nation and bring us all together again!!
GO OBAMA!

The whole world is watching. Non-stop. Everyone from the street vendors to the teachers to international news -- it is all anyone is talking about overseas. The election of Obama will go a long way to restore some of the USAs former good will in the world. We will start to hear returns here at 5AM and tomorrow they will have TVs on everywhere to watch the returns.
Oh, and as a side note -- if you and Doug want to move to Cairo, the principal would be interested in hiring both of you -- you to teach and Doug to manage food services. Thought you'd smile to know that. Miss you, mom
cross your fingers!
i can't sleep I'm so nervous.
Great choice! Might I tell you that my 6 year old told me I should vote for Barack Obama. Now of course I had already made the decision to vote Obama but I thought it was quite interesting that she suggested that!!
OHIO IS BLUE!!!!!! OMG!!!!!
I was so excited to vote for Obama and SO happy he won! He gives me HOPE. and my husband is self-employed so we pay for our health insurance, it is quite costly and it goes up every year. I hope he is right in saying the cost will go lower. I believe he has what it takes to make this world a better place for EVERYONE!
The USA will now come out era of Bush to restore the American dream, and with it the good will and reputation from before, adding hope in the rest of our world. You have elected not only a president, but a statesman. Congratulations!!
I knew it was a good sign when they called Ohio so early that night. And as soon as they said Virginia was blue I knew it was FOR SURE! YAY! There is hope again.
